Transitional Kindergarten
Is your child 4-5 years old and ready to learn to read and be academically challenged? Maybe you missed the cut-off to enter kindergarten by a couple of days or months. Our Transitional Kindergarten program is perfect for you!
TK is the beginning of a grand adventure in learning!
Transitional Kindergarten at Holy Family sets the stage for lifelong learning and future educational success. Our youngest Knights and their families are enthusiastic and committed to providing their children with the best possible spiritual and academic formation, inspiring and challenging our youngest learners as they learn and grow.
We consider our Transitional Kindergarten the first part of a two-year kindergarten program. The curriculum encompasses approximately half a year of Kindergarten. This allows students to thrive when they reach Kindergarten, as they are already well-acquainted with academic and social learning and how to be productive members of a classroom community.
Students in TK grow closer to God through bible stories, prayers, and practicing virtues. Our full-day Transitional Kindergarten program combines joyful play and exploration with classroom teaching. Each day provides opportunities for learning about our world through Spanish, Library, Art, Music, Physical Education, Innovation& Design, and Gardening.
Students use hands-on manipulatives to engage with a standards-based core curriculum. During “choice time,” students choose how they would like to engage independently in art, math games, letter writing, or play.
Transitional Kindergarten at Holy Family is a welcoming, safe, nurturing, and cheerful environment.
