Our Class News
May 14, 2012
· This is Spirit Week at Holy Family School. We will celebrate our school spirit in the following ways:
Tuesday – Twin/Group day: Children may wear matching free dress in couples or groups. I told the children today that if they didn’t plan to be twins with another child, they could wear a white T-shirt and jeans and we would be a large group of twins. Mainly they can wear free dress and have fun, no need to stress over what to wear.
Wednesday – Spirit Day: Wear free dress in any color of the rainbow! There will be special games outside and children will get free popsicles. Please email me if you would not like your child to have a popsicle.
Thursday – Crazy Socks Day: Wear socks in crazy colors!
· There will be a bake sale this Tuesday. Everything costs $1.00. Please send your money in a labeled ziplock bag or envelope.
· Thursday, May 17, is noon dismissal, and there is no school on Friday, May 18.
· Practice Star Words List #10:

Homework
Monday:
- Read The Very Hungry Caterpillar Books to your parents.
- Write a story about a butterfly. (We have been writing stories in class and the children have had lots of practice. They must write at least two sentences beginning with upper case letters and ending with periods, and draw a picture to go with the story.)
- Time Worksheet
Tuesday:
- Time Worksheet
- “My Daily Schedule” - Write at least three activities that you do throughout the day and the time that they take place.
Wednesday:
- My Prayer Book: Practice reading the “Our Father” and the “Hail Mary.”
- “Our Flag” sheet: We have been learning that the flag is a symbol of our country. Draw a picture of a flag that you would like to represent the United States of America, and write one sentence to explain your design.
Thursday: No Homework! Have a nice long weekend, and see you Monday!
