Shannon Porter – Shannon has 18 years of experience in non-profit work. At Dolores Mission School, she organized, implemented and oversaw all fundraising and development projects, including a $3.5 million capital campaign. While working at Dolores Mission, Shannon obtained a certificate in grant-writing and non-profit development from UCLA. Following 7 years at Dolores Mission, Shannon managed the Homegirl Cafe and oversaw the transition of the small Boylel Heights cafe into a 100 seat restaurant at the new Homeboy Headquarters. During her six years at Homegirl, she developed and oversaw all financial systems, directly managed 40 employees and implemented an extensive training program for formerly incarcerated women and men. During this time, she also obtained a Master’s in Agriculture at Cal Poly Pomona and implemented an agriculture training and farm-to-table program for Homegirl Cafe employees. Shannon currently serves as the Director of Advancement for Holy Family School in South Pasadena and is working with school and parish staff to enhance the educational experience for years to come.
