Welcome to Miss Rogers First Grade ClassCool

Hi Parents!

Many fantastic and  magical projects are in store for first grade!

Here are a few things that your child should know:

  • how to write their first and last name
  • be able to read three letter words
  • know their letters and sounds
  • read the color words
  • know their shapes
  • know how to sit still
You  may have heard that we do lots of work in first grade. Everything revolves around the letters, sounds and reading, along with basic number concepts. We do loads of creative writing too and we compile their stories into beautiful take-home books each month. Believe it or not, book reports will begin in January! In preparation, please read with your child daily. The more practice, the more successful your child will be in school.
