¡Muy bienvenidos!
A huge welcome back!
If you can tell me three good reasons to learn Spanish, you are ready for “la clase de Español Grados 1-2-3!” You might have answered: “to speak with my 'abuelita o tios', to be the translator when I go on family trips to a Spanish speaking country, to get a better job when I grow up” or (mi favorito) “it's really fun to speak another language!” I LOVE speaking Spanish with you and watching you learn more every year. ! ¿!Listos!? ¡Yo sí!
We will add many new words and phrases to what you already know and continue to practice pronunciation with stories and songs. Soon you will be using Spanish to talk more about the things you asked me to teach, like: “animals, sports, and countries”! We will play new games, draw and label, and act out the meaning of words and sentences. This is the best way for you to learn Spanish, and it’s fun too!
When we listen to stories, sing, and move our bodies, we are using both sides of our brainpower; we learn faster and remember what we learn for a longer time. 1st grade will read in Spanish this year! 2nd and 3rd grade learners will build on their good Spanish reading skills with some new books.
I am sure you are ready to show responsibility in class. Working with your table "grupitios" will be good practice in group work, cooperation, listening, speaking, writing and helping others. See if you can read five more responsibilities listed below to someone at home. We all have responsibilities! “Uno, dos, tres, no más Ingles!” Maestra Tere will use mostly Spanish in class. I’m sure there will be a lot to celebrate this year!
I will be happy to answer any questions you or your parents may have. Gracias y aDios!
